Kigoda Consulting is an independent consultancy that offers specialist political risk and responsible investment services. While the majority of Kigoda’s work is focussed on sub-Saharan Africa, it also works and collaborates on projects across other emerging and frontier regions. Kigoda’s clients range from international investors to NGOs, activist asset managers to foundations, and renewable energy companies to global expert networks.

Kigoda Consulting is managed by Mike Davies. Kigoda draws from its pool of associate consultants on a project basis.

Mike required a logo design that would compliment the professional and credible image of his consultancy.

The name “kigoda” is a Swahili word for a three-legged stool – a nod to both the African focus of the business, and the idea that there are three legs or pillars to sustainability: economic, social and environmental.

I retained the iconic stool mark from the existing logo, but enclosed it as negative space within a triangle holding shape to add weight and further enforce the three pillar concept.

A fresh colour palette was selected that could work equally well when reversed for light and dark environments. Horizontal- and vertical-lockup alternate versions allow for flexible application of the logo.
